Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT) has marked a significant milestone by successfully handling its first-ever 100% transhipment vessel call, underlining its growing importance as an emerging transhipment hub.

The vessel, MSC Krystal, berthed at the terminal on March 26 at 0145 hours and is expected to sail later today after handling approximately 1,307 TEUs of transhipment containers. This fully transhipment call highlights DBGT’s operational readiness and efficiency in managing dedicated transhipment volumes.

The achievement comes amid ongoing disruptions in global shipping linked to the Gulf crisis. DBGT extended proactive support to shipping lines and EXIM trade by facilitating the seamless movement of crisis-affected and stranded cargo, ensuring minimal disruption to supply chains.

The terminal acknowledged the strong support of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority and Customs authorities, whose coordination and guidance enabled smooth execution of operations.

This milestone is expected to strengthen DBGT’s positioning as a reliable gateway and enhance its prospects of attracting more transhipment volumes as global trade dynamics continue to evolve.
