India’s defence exports stood at 15,920 crore in 2022-23. India has aimed at achieving 2.5 lakh crore worth of defence exports by 2047, said general officer commanding-in-chief of the Central Command lieutenant general NS Raja Subramani. He delivered a lecture on ‘Amrit Kaal vision for national security’ here at Andhra University on Tuesday. Subramani spoke about the geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, environmental, energy, and human security, and diverse other topics.

Subramani said the definition of national security has widened to encompass various other aspects like inner economic security, energy security, technological security, space security, human security, etc. in the modern times. “India must develop its comprehensive national power in all aspects to become a major power, particularly on the economic front. We need to align our goals in a manner where both the military and civil resources are harmonised for dual-use technologies, infrastructure development, and operational collaboration. We have already made great strides with regard to this. And this is the path to the future,” said Subramani. He participated in a plantation drive after the lecture.

AU vice-chancellor Prof PVGD Prasad Reddy explained how Andhra University is increasing its collaborations with defence forces.
