    Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), chaired a high-level review meeting at New Udhna in Surat to assess the progress and future planning of the proposed East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor (EWDFC).

    The ambitious corridor, which will connect Dankuni in West Bengal to Surat in Gujarat, is a key initiative aimed at enhancing seamless freight movement across India and strengthening the country’s logistics backbone.

    The meeting focused on critical aspects of project development, inter-departmental coordination, and execution strategies to ensure timely and efficient implementation of the corridor.

    Senior DFCCIL officials present at the meeting included Director (Operations & Business Development) Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director (Infrastructure) Anurag Sharma, Executive Director (Infrastructure) Manish Awasthy, GGM (BD & BA) S. P. Verma, Consultant (Project Development) S. K. Negi, CGM (Surat) Deepak Gupta, GGM (Security/WDFC) Jitender Srivastava, AGM (OCC/WDFC) Praveen Tiwari, and JGM (OP&BD, Mumbai) Arvind Nagar, along with other senior officers from the corporate office and field units.

    The review underscores DFCCIL’s continued focus on expanding dedicated freight infrastructure to support faster, more efficient cargo movement and drive economic growth.
