Diamond Line, the short-sea and feeder carrier operated by COSCO SHIPPING Europe, along with Tarros Group, is launching a rapid short-sea service connecting Alexandria, Egypt, and Piraeus, Greece to Algiers, Algeria, and vice versa starting June 2024.

This joint weekly service will operate using two 1,000 TEU vessels.

The inaugural voyage of the service, led by Contship Ivy, is anticipated to depart from Alexandria on 28 June and arrive in Algiers on 4 July.

“The new PAE service will further strengthen Diamond Line’s network in the Mediterranean, and the Maghreb region in particular. COSCO SHIPPING and Diamond Line have serious ambitions to grow in North African markets to support their local businesses and economies. With an estimated 6 million inhabitants, the metropolitan region of Algiers has great economic prospects and will benefit from our new service. PAE will fill a missing link and grant our clients access to COSCO SHIPPING’s “Three Networks”: water transportation, rail transportation, and Warehousing and Distribution network,” added HU Hua, managing director of Diamond Line GmbH.

The rotation of PAE service will be as follows: Alexandria, El Dhekelia (ACCHCO) – Piraeus PCT – Algiers – Alexandria, El Dhekelia (ACCHCO)
