DP World has secured a 150,000 sq ft office space in Navi Mumbai for its new Global Capability Centre (GCC) through a long-term lease agreement. The space, located in the Q2 tower of the Aurum Q Parc mixed-use development in Ghansoli, will serve as the company’s fourth GCC facility in India, reflecting its strategic expansion plans in the country.

The agreement, spanning five years with a three-year lock-in period, signifies DP World’s commitment to the region. The deal includes provisions for a 5 per cent rental escalation every 12 months, with a total rent amounting to Rs 65 crore over the lease tenure.

The company’s investment underscores its confidence in India’s thriving logistics sector and its potential for sustained growth. With an annual revenue of $18 billion, the company is expanding its port business in India as part of its global growth strategy.

The surge in GCCs across India reflects the country’s attractiveness to multinational corporations seeking to establish offshore operations. With a skilled workforce, a conducive business environment, and robust infrastructure, India offers significant advantages for companies looking to enhance their global capabilities while optimising costs. This trend is expected to drive further demand for office space, particularly in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune, reinforcing India’s pivotal role in the global outsourcing landscape.
