DP World has launched EcoRoute, a new sustainable logistics solution designed to reduce supply chain emissions by combining rail transport and coastal shipping to create more efficient multimodal freight networks.

The initiative aims to help businesses lower their carbon footprint by shifting cargo movement from traditional road-based transportation to more environmentally friendly alternatives. By integrating rail and coastal shipping, EcoRoute is expected to improve efficiency while supporting greener supply chain operations.

DP World said the solution will provide customers with flexible transport options that balance sustainability, reliability, and cost effectiveness. The service is part of the company’s broader strategy to develop lower-carbon logistics solutions across global trade networks.

The move comes as companies worldwide increase efforts to reduce emissions and adopt more sustainable transportation models. Multimodal solutions that combine different modes of transport are gaining importance as businesses look to build resilient and environmentally responsible supply chains.

DP World continues to invest in technology, infrastructure, and alternative transport solutions to support the transition toward cleaner logistics operations.
