DP World has secured a 50-year concession to develop and operate new terminals at Fujairah Port, marking a major expansion of its presence in the United Arab Emirates and strengthening the emirate’s position as a key maritime and logistics hub. The long-term agreement is expected to support growing regional trade and enhance port capacity on the Gulf of Oman.
Under the concession, DP World will invest in the development of modern cargo handling infrastructure, advanced terminal equipment and digital technologies to improve operational efficiency and accommodate rising cargo volumes. The project is aimed at creating a future-ready gateway capable of serving container, breakbulk and other cargo segments.
The new terminals will enhance connectivity for regional and international shipping lines, offering improved access to global trade routes while supporting Fujairah’s strategic role outside the Strait of Hormuz. The expanded facilities are also expected to attract additional shipping services and logistics investments to the emirate.
The agreement aligns with DP World’s long-term strategy of expanding its global ports and logistics network while supporting economic diversification and trade growth in the UAE. The project is anticipated to generate employment opportunities, strengthen supply chains and boost the competitiveness of Fujairah Port.
Once completed, the new terminal infrastructure is expected to increase cargo handling capacity, improve service reliability and reinforce Fujairah’s role as a vital maritime gateway for regional and international commerce.
