Dr A Sakthivel, Honorary Chairman of the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) and Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), met Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, and congratulated him on the proactive and successful finalisation of several Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) by the Government of India.

During the meeting, Dr Sakthivel appreciated the Ministry’s sustained efforts in advancing negotiations on ongoing FTAs, particularly with the European Union and other key trading partners, aimed at strengthening India’s global trade presence.

He also requested the Hon’ble Minister to expedite and conclude the trade talks with United States counterparts, noting that an early and favourable conclusion would provide much-needed relief to the Indian apparel exporting community, which is currently facing significant challenges amid global economic headwinds.

Shri Piyush Goyal reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to protecting exporters’ interests while pursuing balanced, inclusive, and mutually beneficial trade agreements to enhance India’s export competitiveness and long-term growth.
