Dr. S. Xavier Britto, Chairman and Founder of K-Indev Logistics and XB Group, has taken a significant step towards strengthening logistics education and industry-academia collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AMET University to establish a Centre of Excellence in Logistics Management.

The MoU was signed on August 15, 2026, in Chennai, marking an important milestone in Dr. Britto’s vision of creating a strong academic ecosystem for the rapidly evolving logistics and supply chain industry.

The occasion was made particularly special as it coincided with the 100th birthday of Dr. Britto’s mother. With her blessings, Dr. Britto also launched the second set of two books co-authored with Dr. Bashir Rajan Babu — Born on Water: The Story of Ships and Transport Analytics.

Addressing students and alumni on the occasion, Dr. Britto highlighted the rapid growth of the Indian economy and the enormous opportunities emerging in the logistics and supply chain sector. He emphasised the importance of consistency, commitment and continuous learning, inspiring students to prepare themselves for the opportunities of tomorrow.

The establishment of the Centre of Excellence, along with the launch of the two books, represents another important milestone in Dr. Britto’s long-term vision of establishing the XB University of Shipping & Logistics.

The initiative is expected to contribute to developing industry-ready professionals, promoting research and innovation, and strengthening the interface between academia and the logistics, shipping and transportation sectors.
