A 28-year-old driver was run over by a truck in Piyala, Faridabad, on Saturday night.
The victim, Sashimohan Mishra, from Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh, was unloading the cargo at the Inland Container Depot in Piyala when a truck ran over him, said police.

“My brother Sashimohan was employed as a driver on Lalit Chauhan’s truck. Sashimohan drove the cargo truck from Noida to the Piyala container depot on the night of December 28. While this vehicle was being emptied at the dock, we came to know that my brother was run over by another truck,” Brijmohan said, demanding strict action against the ICD manager and the truck driver.

“The victim’s head was crushed in the accident, and he died on the spot. We shifted the body to the mortuary,” ASI Ilyash stated in the FIR.

Based on Mishra’s brother Brijmohan’s complaint, a case was registered under sections 106 (causing death due to negligence) and 281 (rash driving on a public way) of the BNS on Sunday against the accused.

The victim’s body was handed over to the family after autopsy, said police.

“We have collected the CCTV footage from the container depot. We are analysing the footage, and based on the findings, appropriate legal action against the accused,” the ASI said.
