Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Waltair Division, Lalit Bohra, accompanied by senior division officials on Wednesday, inspected the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Bacheli and Kirandul sidings to review railway operations and to strengthen coordination with NMDC projects to enhance productivity .

The DRM held discussions with senior NMDC officials with a focus on improving freight loading operations, which are expected to significantly increase rake loading capacity, boost traffic for both the railways and NMDC, and generate additional revenue for both the organisations.

Following the discussions, the DRM and officials inspected crucial sidings such as Reception Yard 5, Line No. 4, and the loading plant, emphasising operational improvement and efficient freight loading.

A major focus during the DRM’s inspection of the KK Line was the ongoing doubling work, station development activities, safety protocols, and enhancement of siding facilities. He also reviewed the wagon discharge silo system at NMDC, which is designed to notably reduce wagon loading time, thereby improving overall operational efficiency, said Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K. Pavan Kumar.

The inspection concluded with Mr. Lalit Bohra’s visit to the office of the Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADEN) at Kirandul and an inspection of amenities at the station.
