Global logistics major DTDC Express Ltd. has partnered with Prompt Xpress International Ltd. to expand its footprint in Sri Lanka and reinforce the India–Sri Lanka trade corridor.

Under the new partnership, the two companies have launched a dedicated customer contact point in Sri Lanka, which will operate under Prompt Xpress International Ltd. The move marks a strategic step in DTDC’s efforts to deepen its presence across South Asia and strengthen cross-border logistics between the two countries.

As part of the engagement, DTDC Chairman Subhasish Chakraborty recently visited Sri Lanka and met with former Sri Lankan cricketer Aravinda De Silva, who serves as Chairman of Prompt Xpress, to formalise and solidify the collaboration.

Describing the partnership as a blend of sporting excellence and operational precision, Chakraborty said it is “about combining the precision of a legendary cricketer with the reliability of India’s leading logistics network.” He added, “Together, we’re making cross-border trade faster, smarter, and more accessible.”

Founded on July 26, 1990, DTDC is one of India’s leading integrated express logistics providers and a pioneer of the franchise-based model in the sector. The company operates more than 16,500 outlets across India and has expanded its international presence to markets including the UK, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East.

Prompt Xpress, established in April 2015, was founded by professionals with extensive experience in the domestic courier and ICT sectors. It has grown to become Sri Lanka’s largest courier service, operating 98 branches across the island and leveraging strong ICT-driven innovations.

The partnership is expected to enhance service capabilities, improve delivery timelines, and facilitate smoother trade flows between India and Sri Lanka, strengthening regional supply chain integration.
