Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo branch of Emirates, has established an Application Programming Interface (API) integration with DB Schenker, a prominent player in logistics services worldwide. Through the adoption of digital tools, Emirates SkyCargo is striving to enhance its top-tier customer experience and streamline the international trade process for increased efficiency. API acts as a digital bridge between two systems, allowing them to communicate and exchange data.

The direct host-to-host connection with DB Schenker’s internal booking system streamlines the air freight booking procedure, granting agents immediate access to Emirates SkyCargo’s schedules, standard, and contract tariff rates, available capacity, and the airline’s extensive global network spanning over 140 destinations across six continents, according to the official release.

Starting first in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, this connection will later expand to more countries worldwide, making it easier to trade with important places like Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Germany, and the USA. Initially, the service will enable agents to book general cargo, with the possibility of adding other products from Emirates SkyCargo’s multi-vertical, industry-leading portfolio in the near future. Emirates SkyCargo had also earlier launched a host-to-host connection with Kuehne+Nagel last year.
