    September 15 is celebrated every year in honour of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, one of India’s foremost engineers and a visionary who laid the foundation for modern infrastructure and irrigation systems in the country. Revered as the Father of Indian Engineering, his pioneering work continues to inspire generations.

    Marking the occasion this year, GSV is organising a National Workshop on Sustainable Transportation on September 15, 2025, in line with the theme, “Unleashing the Power of Engineers to Advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”

    The workshop will bring together distinguished leaders from academia, government, and industry. Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, President of the Indian National Science Academy, will deliver the keynote address as Chief Guest.

    Several eminent personalities will grace the event as Guests of Honour, including:

    Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman, Deendayal Port & Mumbai Port Authority, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways

    Shri Sanjay Swarup, Chairman & Managing Director, Container Corporation of India Limited

    Shri Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Gandhinagar

    Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited

    Shri U.M.A. Maheshwar D, Chief Consulting Engineer, GE Aerospace

    The workshop will focus on innovative solutions and collaborative strategies to promote sustainable transportation systems, reduce environmental impact, and align with India’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
