India–Myanmar trade relations received a significant boost as the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Yangon.

The MoU was signed at the UMFCCI office by Mr U Aye Win, President, UMFCCI, and Mr Rohit Tejpal, Deputy Director, FIEO, on behalf of Dr Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO, FIEO. The agreement aims to deepen institutional cooperation, strengthen business-to-business linkages, and expand bilateral trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

The signing coincided with the first day of FIEO’s 25-member Multi-Product Business Delegation visit to Myanmar, which began with a warm welcome from UMFCCI and the launch of structured B2B meetings in Yangon. The delegation’s engagements are expected to open new avenues across multiple sectors and reinforce economic collaboration between Indian and Myanmar enterprises.

The initiative marks a new chapter in India–Myanmar commercial ties, underscoring a shared commitment to closer economic integration and sustained trade growth.
