    Promoting agri-horticultural products in the northeast, especially those from Meghalaya, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), along with the state department of agriculture and farmers’ welfare, organized Bharat agri conclave-cum-international buyer-seller meet in Shillong on Saturday.

    Agriculture minister M Ampareen Lyngdoh, who inaugurated the conclave, appreciated APEDA for its initiative in promoting the state’s agricultural products, while emphasising on Meghalaya’s huge potential in offering and contributing agricultural products to the domestic and global markets.

    Narrating the success story of the first export shipment of Khasi mandarins (GI) and pineapples to the Middle East, commissioner and secretary, agriculture department, Vijay Kumar D outlined Meghalaya govt’s vision to take up more such initiatives for export of local products to international markets.
