    Sequel to nomination by Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR), G. R. Seshagiri Rao, Executive Director (Operations) had assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer, Gateway Container Terminal India (GTIL), JNPort. The appointment of Seshagiri Rao comes amidst the report that CONCOR has drawn up ambitious plans to scale up its operations to increase rail co-efficient and also to offer door – port first mile and last mile logistics to EXIM trade and focus on DPD boxes destined to hinterland locations.

    Seshagiri Rao, a veteran and well known in shipping and logistics areas of EXIM, coastal and hinterland rail transportation of domestic consignments for major corporates and consignors carry more than 3 1/2 decades of Operations, Commercial and Terminal management experience having worked on many critical assignments and positions including heading strategic business units/ Regions of CONCOR in various capacities at pan India level.

    A multi-tasking strategist Seshagiri Rao is poised to play a pivotal role at GTIL a unit of APM Terminals and CONCOR. GTIL is a leading Container Terminal with an installed capacity of 2.20 million TEUs with high productivity levels and is geared up with new and modern equipment and expanded infrastructure to handle higher volumes of exim boxes. GTIL has been awarded Maritime Excellence Award for Terminal Operations in the recently held Global Maritime India Summit, 2023.
