    GJEPC, in collaboration with key local trade associations, organised a one-day MSME seminar in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on 2nd March to promote exports and support small businesses in the jewellery sector. Attended by over 100 jewellers, the event was and was held in partnership with the Sarafa Association, Freeganj; the Silver Gold Merchant Association, Lakherwadi; the Silver Gold Merchant Association, Patni Bazaar; and the Nayapura Association.

    The seminar was inaugurated by Ms. Kalavati Yadav, Chairperson of Ujjain Municipal Corporation, and BJP President Mr. Sanjay Agarwal. Both dignitaries highlighted the critical role of exports in economic growth and assured that the state government would extend full support to infrastructure development and export initiatives for Madhya Pradesh’s gem and jewellery sector.

    Industry experts addressed key topics relevant to MSMEs in the jewellery trade. Mr. Nilesh Trivedi, Assistant Director of MSME, Madhya Pradesh, provided an overview of government schemes available to support small and medium enterprises. Ms. Aakansha Mishra, Officer at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bhopal, stressed the importance of hallmarking in ensuring quality standards in jewellery. Mr. Mithilesh Pandey, Director, Membership, GJEPC, delivered a presentation on the significance of the Council’s role in facilitating exports.

    Participants also received detailed insights into GJEPC initiatives, including the IIJS, IJEX, Dubai, international exhibitions, business networking opportunities, and the PM Vishwakarma scheme.
