The Indian government has sanctioned the export of two lakh tonnes of wheat to neighboring Nepal, as revealed by a recent government notification.

This move will be facilitated through the National Cooperative Exports Limited, an organization backed by cooperative societies, according to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. The export of wheat remains restricted under a domestic ban, but exceptions are granted to ensure international food security upon request.

In a related update, the DGFT announced that inputs for synthetic knitted fabrics imported by specific entities such as advance authorization holders, EOUs, and SEZs would be exempt from the imposed minimum import price, set at USD 3.5 per kilogram, a measure designed to curb the import of cheap fabrics.
