Minister for Infrastructure, Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the infrastructure of Industrial Estates and establishing a Logistics Hub in Raichur. In a meeting with elected representatives of Raichur district, Patil acknowledged the current shortcomings in Industrial Estates’ infrastructure and emphasized the government’s dedication to resolving these issues.

Patil outlined a comprehensive development strategy for the Industrial Estates, with the intention of transferring ownership to industrial unions for ongoing maintenance. The revenue generated from tax collections within the estates will be divided, with 70% allocated to the unions and 30% to local bodies. Additionally, Minister Patil instructed the Commissioner of Textiles to prepare a proposal for a Textile Park in Raichur.

With over 120 ginning units, Raichur ranks as Asia’s second-largest cotton market, making it a prime candidate for a textile park. Patil plans to approach the central government for permission to establish this park.

Highlighting Raichur’s potential as a logistics hub, Patil expressed determination to collaborate with relevant authorities to realize this opportunity. Science and Technology Minister NS Bose Raju also stressed the need for improved infrastructure in Raichur, as it emerges as a crucial commercial in the Kalyana Karnataka region.
