The Grimaldi Group has expanded its fleet with the addition of Grande Inghilterra, a new ammonia-ready car carrier designed to support the shipping industry’s transition toward lower-emission operations.

The vessel is equipped with advanced technology and has been built with the capability to adopt ammonia fuel in the future, positioning it for compliance with tightening environmental regulations.

Industry observers say ammonia-ready designs are gaining momentum as shipowners seek flexible pathways to decarbonize fleets while awaiting wider fuel availability and infrastructure development.

Grande Inghilterra is expected to strengthen Grimaldi’s capacity in the automotive logistics segment, supporting the transport of vehicles and rolling cargo across international trade routes.

The addition also reflects growing investment in next-generation vessel technology aimed at improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and future-proofing maritime assets.

Grimaldi Group continues to modernize its fleet as demand rises for cleaner and more sustainable shipping solutions worldwide.
