    Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase in ocean tariff rates for containers travelling from the West Mediterranean to Latin America.

    According to the German company’s statement, the geographical scope for Latin America includes the West Coast of South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

    The new rates will apply to 20′ and 40′ Standard, High Cube, Reefer, and Special Cargo containers, and will take effect for sailings starting 1 October 2024.

    The details of the rate changes are as follows:

    • From Italy to Latin America: 20′ Container – US$165 and 40′ Container – US$165
    • From Spain to Latin America: 20′ Container – US$607 and 40′ Container – US$607
