Hapag-Lloyd has secured continued coverage of Casablanca through a new slot agreement, allowing the carrier to maintain its service connection to the Moroccan port.
The agreement will provide Hapag-Lloyd with access to vessel capacity on the relevant service, enabling it to continue offering container shipping connections for customers moving cargo to and from Casablanca.
Casablanca is an important gateway for Morocco and serves a broad range of import and export cargo. Maintaining the port connection will support shippers seeking reliable access to the Moroccan market and onward regional trade.
The new slot arrangement allows Hapag-Lloyd to retain market coverage without requiring a dedicated vessel deployment, giving the carrier greater flexibility in managing its network and capacity.
Slot agreements are commonly used by container carriers to optimise vessel utilisation, expand port coverage and maintain service offerings while adapting to changing trade volumes.
