    The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has added another feather to its cap by winning the LEAPS-2024 Award in the Education and Skill Development in the Logistics Sector category. Outshining 34 competitors, IIM Mumbai clinched the first rank in this highly competitive category, solidifying its position as a leader in logistics education and skill development.

    The coveted LEAPS-2024 Award was presented to Professor Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, by Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles. This award is part of the Logistics Excellence, Advancement & Performance Shield (LEAPS) initiative, which recognizes outstanding contributions in the logistics ecosystem, including MSMEs, startups, and other industry enablers. IIM Mumbai’s victory highlights its transformative role in shaping India’s logistics education and workforce development.

    What is LEAPS-2024 and Why It Matters

    The LEAPS-2024 initiative is designed to celebrate and reward exceptional practices and innovations in the logistics sector. It serves as a platform for highlighting significant contributions that drive logistics excellence in India. The award celebrates institutions and individuals who make transformative strides, positively impacting the country’s logistics and supply chain landscape.

    As part of the LEAPS-2024 event, the highly anticipated Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) Report 2024 will be released. This report, developed under the National Logistics Policy, 2022, provides a strategic blueprint for improving logistics performance across India, contributing to the government’s vision of making the nation a logistics hub for global trade.

    IIM Mumbai’s Commitment to Logistics Excellence

    Professor Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award, stating, “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in management education and skill development for the logistics sector. We are thankful for the trust and continued support of the Government of India.”

    Under the guidance of Shri Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman of IIM Mumbai’s Board of Governors, IIM Mumbai has made significant strides in integrating digital transformation , sustainability, and capacity building into its logistics programs. Shri Shetty’s leadership has revolutionized India’s logistics infrastructure, shifting from outdated systems to modern, technology-driven solutions.

    IIM Mumbai has also been a Nodal Agency for the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, further establishing its role as a key player in India’s logistics development. The institute’s active involvement in shaping the National Logistics Policy underscores its dedication to driving sustainable and efficient solutions across India’s logistics and infrastructure landscape.
