The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has facilitated the movement of a vessel carrying 27 ISO tanks from Guwahati to Bogibeel, Dibrugarh, for loading of methanol.
Assam Petrochemicals Limited (APL) is set to transport the consignment to Bangladesh through National Waterway-2 (Brahmaputra), marking a significant step towards expanding the region’s inland cargo basket and strengthening waterway-based trade connectivity with the neighbouring country.
The movement highlights the growing potential of National Waterway-2 for transporting diverse cargo and supporting cost-efficient, multimodal logistics across the Northeast and beyond.
