    The Jharkhand government is soon coming out with its new pharmaceutical policy, ethanol production policy and the solar policy, Jitendra Kumar Singh, IAS Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand said on Thursday.

    Speaking at the inaugural session of the 10th Manufacturing Conclave organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Singh said, “The share of the industry sector has been 48 percent of the GSDP of Jharkhand in 2021-22. The mining industry is among the leading industries in the state.”

    “Around 40 percent of natural mineral stocks of the country belong to the state. Jharkhand can contribute majorly in the GVC exports of India with an upgradation in the infrastructure of the state mentioned here about the Amritsar- Kolkata industrial corridor,” he said.

    The theme for this edition of the Manufacturing Conclave is ‘Integrating Global Value Chain through Competitiveness – Sustainability – Technology.’

    At the event, Ravindra Kulkarni, Convener, CII Jharkhand Manufacturing Panel & Plant Head – Jamshedpur, Tata Motors Ltd, briefed about the promising growth of the economy of India amidst the changing geo-political and the post pandemic effect.

    He deliberated on the integral role of the manufacturing sector which contributes 17 percent of the GDP in fostering the export growth of the country.
