Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has inaugurated India’s largest battery swapping and charging station for heavy electric vehicles at its NSFT terminal, marking a major leap towards greener and more sustainable port operations.

The state-of-the-art facility is designed to support the growing deployment of heavy electric vehicles within port premises, significantly reducing carbon emissions and improving operational efficiency. The initiative aligns with India’s broader push for clean mobility and decarbonisation in the logistics and maritime sectors.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairperson, JNPA; Shri Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, Deputy Chairperson, JNPA; and Dhruv Kotak, Managing Director of JM Baxi Group, along with other senior officials and stakeholders. The facility was formally commissioned with the flag-off of heavy electric vehicles by the JNPA Chairperson.

This development reinforces JNPA’s commitment to building a future-ready, eco-friendly port ecosystem, accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions, and setting new benchmarks for sustainable infrastructure in India’s port sector.
