    Kerala plans to strengthen its investment promotion efforts and advance a series of maritime development projects aimed at expanding the state’s infrastructure and economic activity.

    Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan said the state would step up efforts to attract investments while focusing on projects that can strengthen Kerala’s position in the maritime and logistics sectors.

    The proposed initiatives are expected to cover areas linked to ports, shipping and maritime infrastructure, with the objective of improving connectivity and creating opportunities for businesses and investors.

    Kerala’s extensive coastline and access to major international shipping routes provide opportunities to develop port-led industries, logistics facilities and related services. Strengthening maritime infrastructure could also support trade and improve the movement of goods through the state.

    The investment push is expected to involve both public and private sector participation, with project development and implementation to progress through the relevant government agencies.

    The state’s maritime focus comes as India continues to expand port capacity and logistics infrastructure to support rising domestic and international trade. Further details on individual projects, investment commitments and implementation timelines are expected as the initiatives move forward.
