Kia India celebrated a significant export milestone, shipping 100,000 completely knocked down (CKD) vehicle kits since June 2020 from its Anantapur facility. This achievement solidifies India’s role as a major export hub for Kia, contributing half of the company’s global CKD exports. The company aims to leverage this success to expand its reach and double its export volume by 2030.

    CKD vehicle exports
Kia India has become a crucial export hub for the Kia Corporation, representing 50% of its worldwide CKD vehicle shipments. The Anantapur plant has played a vital role in this achievement.

The company anticipates exporting over 38,000 CKD units to Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam in 2024. This signifies the growing demand for models like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens in international markets.

    Make in India products
Kia India has exported a total of 367,000 vehicles, demonstrating the global demand for its “Make in India” products. The company focuses on producing high-quality vehicles tailored to the diverse requirements of various international markets. This export success highlights the competitive pricing and marketability of Kia India’s vehicle lineup. The company’s future plans include expanding its CKD operations to the Middle East and Africa. This strategic move aims to further solidify Kia India’s position in the global automotive market.

“India is a key market for Kia Corporation, serving not only as a strong sales driver but also as an emerging export hub. This milestone highlights Kia India’s commitment to manufacturing excellence, innovation, and delivering value to global customers. We are proud to see models like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens perform strongly in international markets. We are also grateful for the government’s export-friendly policies, which have played a crucial role in strengthening India’s position within the global automotive value chain. Looking ahead, we aim to expand our CKD footprint to the Middle East and Africa, to double our export volume by 2030,” Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India.
