King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam has set a new record handling 292,612 TEU in May 2024.

The port surpassed its previous record set in March 2024, when it handled 289,787 TEU.

The port boasts an extensive range of capabilities, including 43 fully serviced and equipped berths, capable of handling up to 105 million tonnes of cargo and containers.

Moreover, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has embarked on a transformative journey to revolutionise King Abdul Aziz Port into a smart port, harnessing the power of 5G technology. As part of the Smart Ports Initiative, port operations are being automated to boost efficiency and significantly increase container handling capacity.

DP World and MAWANI recently commenced construction of a new SAR900 million ($240 million) logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port.
