Kumport Terminal Istanbul has joined the Portchain Connect network to improve the quality and speed of its berth alignment.

The company stated that it is thrilled to work with Kumport Terminal Istanbul to streamline communication channels and enhance overall berth alignment.

Portchain Connect will enable Kumport Terminal Istanbul to get real-time schedules and move count updates directly from carrier systems, allowing them to reply and counter-propose swiftly to align the vessel schedule with the terminal berth plan.

İlyas Gürsoy, Deputy Planning Manager, said: “Being part of Portchain Connect has transformed our approach to berth planning, automating data exchange and enhancing collaboration.”

Thor Thorup, CCO & Co-Founder at Portchain, stated: “Delighted to announce Kumport Terminal Istanbul’s onboarding onto Portchain Connect. Our collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiencies in key aspects of port operations, setting a positive trajectory for the shipping industry digitisation.”

In April, Ocean Network Express (ONE) and Portchain agreed on a deal to drive sustainability across the carrier’s network through the digitalisation of berth alignment.
