UAE-based fabricator Lamprell has secured a contract from National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), part of National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), to build five jackets for an oil and gas project in the Middle East.
The project scope consists of the fabrication, painting and load-out of jackets and boat landings with an optional scope, which includes the supply and fabrication of grillage and sea-fastening of the structures.
“We will approach this project with the same passion and determination that have fueled our achievements in the past to ensure we deliver an outstanding project safely,” said Ian Prescott, chief executive of Lamprell.
Financial terms surrounding the construction of the jackets with an overall fabrication weight of almost 14,000 tonnes have not been disclosed.
Lamprell was taken private in a $46.5m deal by two of its major shareholders last year. The company’s main fabrication facilities are in Hamriyah in the UAE, but it also has yards in Dubai, Jebel Ali, and Saudi Arabian shipbuilding joint venture with Saudi Aramco, Bahri, and Hyundai Heavy Industries.
