Starting 27 October, LATAM Cargo will boost its frequency at Brussels Airport from four to twelve flights per week. This expansion will establish Brussels Airport as LATAM Cargo’s primary European hub.
LATAM Cargo will utilise Boeing 767F aircraft, each with a cargo capacity of around 60 tonnes, for its flights, according to an official release from Brussels Airport.
The inbound flights will mainly ship perishable goods, such as flowers, from Ecuador to Europe. The aircraft will then return towards Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile carrying pharmaceuticals, as well as other time-critical cargo and automotive parts.
The airline also aims to maximise the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), aligning with Brussels Airport’s vision. The airport promotes SAF use, supported this year by a federal government incentive covering additional costs for airlines, the release added.
