Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) has strengthened its presence in Eastern India with the launch of two Grade-A, state-of-the-art warehousing facilities in Guwahati and Agartala. Together, the facilities add more than 4 lakh sq. ft. of capacity, reinforcing the company’s vision of building a pan-India logistics and distribution network.
The expansion comes at a time when Eastern India is rapidly emerging as an industrial and trade hub. Major infrastructure projects, including the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, Bharatmala highways, the Kolkata–Haldia port modernization, and multimodal terminals on the Brahmaputra, are transforming connectivity in the region. Cross-border links such as Maitri Setu and the Akhaura–Agartala rail project are further strengthening integrated corridors with neighboring markets. MLL aims to capitalize on this momentum by creating a unified, future-ready logistics ecosystem connecting the Northeast to the rest of the country.
As part of its ‘Go-East’ strategy, the company has already developed one million sq. ft. of multi-client warehousing space in the region and plans to expand express logistics coverage to over 800 pin codes. The initiative is expected to generate more than 2,000 jobs, with 50% of the workforce drawn from local communities, and will support industries such as e-commerce, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, retail, and grocery.
Commenting on the launch, Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Logistics, “As India, now the world’s fourth-largest economy with a GDP of $4 trillion, advances towards a $30 trillion vision by 2047, efficient supply chains will be critical. Our ‘Go-East’ strategy, marked by these new facilities in Guwahati and Agartala, not only redefines logistics across the country but also enhances connectivity to Tier-II and Tier-III cities, reaching even the remotest locations of the Northeast.”
The Guwahati facility, spread across over 3 lakh sq. ft., is now the largest Grade-A multi-client warehouse in Northeast India. It also houses the region’s first Community Center of Excellence, launched in partnership with the Logistics Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
Strategically located near NH 17, Guwahati International Airport (11.7 km), and Mirza Railway Station (7.1 km), the facility is positioned to serve key industrial parks at Uparhali, Palasbari, and Rampur with efficient connectivity.
The 1.3 lakh sq. ft. Agartala facility strengthens logistics links across Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur, while also facilitating faster cross-border trade with Bangladesh. Designed to support just-in-time shipments and reliable fulfillment, it enhances both first- and last-mile delivery, making Agartala a critical hub for exporters across Northeast and Eastern India.
With these additions, Mahindra Logistics continues to accelerate its mission of delivering end-to-end logistics solutions, from warehousing and distribution to sortation, express, and long-haul services, while driving regional economic growth and trade integration.
