The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of Zhonggu Logistics’ new CRX shipping service to Jeddah Islamic Port, marking another step toward enhancing the Kingdom’s maritime connectivity and global trade competitiveness.

The new service will connect Jeddah Islamic Port with Ningbo and Nansha (China), Aden (Yemen), Sokhna (Egypt), and Aqaba (Jordan), with a handling capacity of up to 1,500 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).

This strategic move aims to boost the competitiveness of Saudi ports regionally and globally, facilitate the smooth flow of international trade, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. It also aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub linking Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Mawani stated that the addition of the CRX service reflects its continued efforts to improve the operational efficiency and global performance ranking of Saudi ports, while strengthening the role of Jeddah Islamic Port as a major gateway for trade and exports.

Recognized as the largest port on the Red Sea, Jeddah Islamic Port features 62 multi-purpose berths and serves as a pivotal maritime hub due to its strategic location along major international shipping lanes. The port continues to play a key role in advancing the Kingdom’s leadership in the global maritime sector.
