Regional governor Oleh Kiper stated that the debris, believed to be from an “Iskander-M missile,” was discovered after the airstrike. The missile damaged both the port and civilian buildings. The governor also noted, without specifying the name of the vessel, that an Antigua Barbuda-flagged cargo vessel was also among those that sustained damage in the attack.
Marine Traffic data show the vessel GOLDEN LION was docked at the Port of Odesa on 20th September after arriving from VARNA Anchorage, Bulgaria. The cargo vessel was reported to be loaded with metal products.
The 6,315 dwt vessel is scheduled to arrive at SULINA Port, Romania, on 22nd September.
