    V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) welcomed Shri Mayank Tewari, IRSME, Additional Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), during his visit to the Port. He was received by Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority.

    During the visit, Shri Tewari toured the V.O.C. Port Heritage Museum, the Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant, the Wharf and the Methanol Bunkering Facility, which is currently under development.

    Port officials briefed the Additional Secretary on various ongoing initiatives, green energy projects and infrastructure developments being undertaken by VOCPA. The initiatives are aimed at promoting clean energy adoption, enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening the Port’s transition towards a sustainable and future-ready maritime ecosystem.

    The visit highlighted the Port’s growing focus on green technologies and renewable energy solutions as it works towards supporting India’s broader clean energy and sustainable maritime development goals.
