    Shri T.K. Ramachandran, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, today flagged off MV Homi Bhabha carrying 300 tonnes of Birla White cargo from the Multi-Modal Terminal (MMT), Varanasi. The ceremony was attended by the Divisional Commissioner, Varanasi; District Magistrate, Varanasi; and District Magistrate, Chandauli.

    During his visit, Shri Ramachandran also reviewed the progress of land acquisition for the extension of the MMT and the proposed Freight Village (MMLP) project in Varanasi. These projects are expected to boost regional trade, strengthen cargo movement through inland waterways, and create significant economic opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
