MSC Air Cargo is pleased to announce that Jannie Davel, Vice President, MSC Air Cargo, signed the company’s official commitment to United for Wildlife (UfW) in London.
The significant event marked MSC Air Cargo’s formal joining of the UfW Transport Taskforce, a global coalition founded by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in 2013, says an official release from MSC Air Cargo.
“United for Wildlife is dedicated to protecting endangered species and combating illegal wildlife trade. By becoming a member of United for Wildlife’s Transport Taskforce, MSC Air Cargo has reinforced its commitment to global identification, disruption and prevention of illegal wildlife within the logistics industry.
“As part of this initiative, MSC Air Cargo will enhance its operational protocols to better detect, prevent and report illegal wildlife trafficking.
The company will provide specialised training to its staff, ground handling agents, vendors and customers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to combat wildlife crime effectively.”
In line with its commitment to United for Wildlife, MSC Air Cargo will work closely with IATA to fulfil United for Wildlife’s commitments and minimise the industry’s impact on animal welfare, the release added. “This partnership aligns with MSC Air Cargo’s broader sustainability goals and demonstrates the company’s dedication to preserving biodiversity and creating a positive legacy for future generations.”
MSC Air Cargo operates a modern fleet of Boeing 777-200 freighters, serving key markets and destinations across Europe, the Americas and Asia. MSC’s shipping line sails on more than 300 trade routes, calling at over 520 ports.
The United for Wildlife network has contributed to over 650 law enforcement cases, nearly 600 arrests, over 350 seizures of wildlife products, and has trained more than 120,000 people, the release added.
