Due to ongoing congestion at the Port of Beira in Mozambique, which has created challenging operational conditions, MSC will implement a congestion surcharge.

This surcharge will apply to cargo shipped from the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, to Beira.

Effective from 9 December 2024 (gate-in date), the surcharge will be set at US$500 per unit for both dry and reefer cargo.
