The National Shipping Board (NSB) held a meeting at Vivanta, New Mangaluru, under the chairmanship of Shri Sameer Khare, Chairman, NSB, to discuss the future roadmap of the Board and measures to strengthen India’s maritime sector.
The meeting was attended by Capt. Nitin Mukesh, Deputy Nautical Adviser-cum-Senior Deputy Director General & Secretary, NSB, and Shri Killi Mohana Rao, Chief Surveyor-cum-Additional Director General (In-Charge), DGMA & Member, NSB.
The discussions focused on key priorities and action points for the NSB, with members deliberating on ways to enhance stakeholder collaboration and ensure effective implementation of the Board’s objectives.
Representatives of the Karnataka Maritime Board and various shipping industry stakeholder associations also participated in the meeting. They shared updates on their ongoing initiatives, highlighted key challenges confronting the maritime sector, and offered suggestions aimed at supporting the sustainable growth and development of India’s shipping industry.
The meeting underlined the importance of coordinated efforts between government bodies, maritime authorities and industry stakeholders to advance India’s shipping and maritime sector.
