The state of Delaware is to get a new container terminal.

Restructure, the company running the port of Wilmington has teamed up with the state to develop a site at a former refinery in Edgemoor along the Delaware river. The $635m planned terminal will take about three years to build its first phase which will have an annual capacity of 250,000 teu with the full project anticipated to have a 1.2m teu capacity.

Gulftainer from the United Arab Emirates had originally been lined up to build and operate this new terminal but the Arab port operator quit the project a few years ago.
