The Ocean Alliance has announced the addition of a direct call at Miami to its Pacific East Coast Express 3 (PEX3) service, further enhancing connectivity between Asia and the United States East Coast.
The updated service rotation is expected to provide shippers with improved access to South Florida and Latin American markets through the Port of Miami, while also offering greater flexibility and transit options for cargo moving between Asia and the US.
Operated under the Ocean Alliance network, the PEX3 service connects major Asian ports with key gateways on the US East Coast. The inclusion of Miami reflects growing cargo demand in the region and the increasing strategic importance of Florida as a logistics and distribution hub.
Industry observers note that the move is likely to benefit sectors such as retail, consumer goods, perishables and e-commerce by enabling faster cargo flows and reducing inland transportation requirements for shipments destined for the southeastern United States.
The Ocean Alliance — comprising major container carriers including CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping, OOCL and Evergreen Marine — continues to adjust its network to align with changing trade patterns and customer requirements.
The revised PEX3 rotation is expected to come into effect as part of the alliance’s upcoming service network updates.
