    Asyad Shipping, a subsidiary of Oman’s Asyad Group has struck a deal with Oman LNG for a long-term charter of two liquefied natural gas carriers.

    The charter is for the 174,000 cu m newbuilds Asyad currently has under construction at South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries for delivery by June 2026.

    The agreement affirms Asyad’s commitment to boost local added value through partnering with Omani production and export companies, providing integrated logistics solutions, and cementing Oman’s position as a strategic logistics hub for major global energy players, the company. which currently owns six LNG carriers, said on social media.

    Oman LNG is a joint venture between the government of Oman as the majority shareholder , followed by Shell 30%, Total 5.54%, KOLNG 5%, Partex 2%, Mitsubishi 2.77%, Mitsui 2.77% and Itochu 0.92%.
