Oman’s Asyad Group has completed the acquisition of UK-based freight forwarder Ligentia, marking a significant step in the state-owned logistics company’s global expansion strategy. The deal strengthens Asyad’s presence in international supply chains and enhances its capabilities across freight forwarding, contract logistics, and end-to-end trade solutions.

Ligentia is known for its technology-driven logistics services and strong footprint in key consumer, retail, and industrial markets. By bringing the company into its portfolio, Asyad aims to broaden service offerings, deepen access to European and global customers, and accelerate digital transformation across its logistics network.

The acquisition aligns with Oman’s broader ambitions to position itself as a regional and global logistics hub connecting Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Asyad has been expanding across ports, shipping, free zones, warehousing, and transport services to support that strategy.

Industry analysts view the transaction as a sign of increasing consolidation in the logistics sector, where scale, technology, and global reach are becoming critical advantages. The integration of Ligentia is expected to enhance Asyad’s competitiveness in the rapidly evolving freight and supply chain market.
