Ocean Network Express (ONE) has added its RC2 shipping service to Jeddah Islamic Port, strengthening maritime connectivity between Saudi Arabia, China and other Red Sea markets. The service links Jeddah with Shanghai, Ningbo and Nansha in China, as well as Aqaba in Jordan and Sokhna in Egypt.
The service has a capacity of up to 1,643 TEUs, providing additional options for containerised cargo moving between China and key markets across the Red Sea region. The new connection is expected to support trade flows and enhance routing flexibility for exporters and importers.
The addition of RC2 forms part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen the international connectivity of its ports and position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub. Mawani said the service demonstrates Jeddah Islamic Port’s ability to accommodate additional shipping services through its infrastructure and operational capabilities.
Jeddah Islamic Port is strategically located on the Red Sea along major maritime routes connecting Asia, Europe and Africa. The port’s expanded service network is expected to further support Saudi Arabia’s logistics and trade ambitions under Vision 2030.
