Ocean Network Express (ONE) and The University of Tokyo’s School of Engineering have partnered to address challenges in the modern container shipping industry.

Amid disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical changes, this collaboration aims to improve operational efficiency, risk management, and environmental sustainability.

The “Container Management Science” programme will reportedly blend expertise from various academic fields, fostering long-lasting collaborations between industry and academia to develop sustainable solutions for container shipping.

The programme launched in April 2024 and will last for three years.

Recently, ONE revealed its financial results for FY2023, which show a 50 per cent decline in revenue.
