Orient Overseas Container Line Co., Ltd. (OOCL) has christened its eleventh 24,188 TEU eco-friendly vessel ‘OOCL Denmark’.

This is the sixth vessel built by Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS) for OOCL.

Dr. Rulin Fuong Tung, Andy Tung’s wife, was invited as the vessel sponsor to name the new vessel, with Andy Tung, Non-Executive Director of Orient Overseas (International) Limited and Managing Partner of QBN Capital, as the guest of honour and Frank Tong, Managing Partner of QBN Capital, as the honourable guest of the naming ceremony.

Peter Pan, Director and Member of Executive Committee of OOCL, said at the ceremony: “OOCL Denmark will join her sister vessels of the same series in serving OOCL’s Asia to Europe route and continue to bring better and greener services to our customers.

“In face of the complex and ever-changing operating environment, OOCL will react proactively and swiftly with our advanced and efficient equipment, extensive network coverage and in combination of the spirit of “customer-oriented” and “take it personally”. Together with our customers and partners, we navigate challenges and create values for each other.”

In June, the company celebrated the first trip of its two new 24,188 TEU mega vessels.
