Singaporean box carrier Pacific International Lines (PIL) will enhance its flagship South West Africa Container Service (SWS).
The SWS will include a weekly direct calling at Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, with PIL aiming to strengthen its network coverage of West Africa. The enhanced SWS commences today (9 December) with Kota Sydney departing the port of Xingang in China.
The enhancement follows the company’s earlier upgrade of SWS in April, in which PIL introduced 7,000 TEU vessels to this independent service.
William Ho, General Manager of Long Haul Trade, Line Management, at PIL, stated: “Having served the continent since the 1970s, PIL’s strong presence and extensive services now cover close to 30 countries in Africa. With our commitment towards ‘Putting Customers First’, we are firm on investing in this region by pushing boundaries and enhancing our service offerings, so that we can deliver more value to our customers.”
The enhanced rotation for the SWS service will now be: Xingang (China) – Qingdao (China) – Busan (South Korea) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Nansha (China) – Singapore – Tema (Ghana) – Lome (Togo) – Lagos, Apapa (Nigeria) – Onne (Nigeria) – Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) – Singapore – Xingang.
