    Apart from releasing the master plan of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial and Precinct Development project and inaugurating the renovated Kochrab Ashram during his day-long visit to Ahmedabad on March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate or lay the foundation stone of railway projects worth Rs 85,000 crore.

    According to an official release, the PM will arrive in Ahmedabad in the morning and visit the Operation and Control Centre of Dedicated Freight Corridor.

    He will lay the foundation stone of or inaugurate a range of railway projects that include flagging of 10 new Vande Bharat trains across the country. He will then proceed to inaugurate the renovated Kochrab Ashram that was established by Mahatma Gandhi in 1915 after returning from South Africa.

    The PM will then launch the masterplan of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial and Precinct Development project. He is also scheduled to address a public meeting near the Gandhi Ashram the same day as part of Ashram Bhoomi Vadana programme before leaving for Rajasthan.
